Regulating Financial Services in Gibraltar
The Gibraltar Financial Services Commission regulates the financial services industry in Gibraltar.
Our mission is to promote good business, protect the public from financial loss and preserve Gibraltar’s good reputation as a financial services centre.
The GFSC work in an inclusive, proportionate and collaborative environment supervising a broad range of entities including: auditors, banks, company managers, DLT providers, e-Money institutions, professional trustees, payment services providers, funds and fund service providers, insurance companies, managers and intermediaries, investment firms, and insolvency practitioners. Firms Entities that wish to do business in or from Gibraltar must meet the GFSC’s standards and criteria both at application stage and on an on-going basis. The GFSC’s supervisory work focuses primarily on the way entities operate, are governed, and the identification of risks to consumers.
The GFSC’s published Strategic Plan encompasses the enhanced delivery of its strategic objectives through a continuously strengthened resource base, the establishment of new, and streamlining of existing regulatory and supervisory processes.
